This sustainable cover compliments your hand-crafted putter and will ensure that the head is thoroughly protected as well as looking very smart and unique.
The putter covers are handwoven on Doris, an ancient floor loom and the fibre is created from wood pulp. The wool filling comes from Devon Zwartbles sheep which are widely farmed across Exmoor.
This sustainable hand-crafted cover compliments your hand-crafted putter and will ensure that your putter head is thoroughly protected, looks smart and stands out from the crowd.
The fibre used to weave this handwoven putter cover is 100% Tencel, a thread that is man-made with wood pulp and is a sustainable fibre. The thread is classed as rayon and the wood pulp is broken down using non-solvents and approximately 99% of the material is turned into lyocell, there is very little waste made during this production. The benefits of lyocell are the reduction in carbon footprint, growing the wood for the pulp takes up less land by 5x than cotton and it is biodegradable.
Whilst the fabric is woven it is quilted on the loom by weaving two layers and then filling between the layers with wool. The wool used in the cover is Devon Zwartbles, a dark brown sheep with a white stripe down their face and white socks on their back legs. They are now widely farmed across Exmoor and the fleece used in this cover has been bread and farmed in Devon so again decreasing the carbon footprint and a highly sustainable product.
The fabric used on the inside of the cover is ProEco Organic Cotton French Terry with antimicrobial Silvadur, a premium quality fabric made with only eco-friendly fibres and then infused with Silvadur which inhibits bacterial growth and controls bad odours. This soft fabric holds moisture very well and is easy to clean and care for.
